Think whisky sour, but with a float of red wine to finish. The splash of red balances the sweet whisky base & adds depth of flavour. 

You will need:

  • 60ml bourbon
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 30ml simple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp fruity red wine
  • 1 strip lemon zest 

To make: 

  1. Fill a shaker with ice, add bourbon, lemon juice & simple syrup. 
  2. Shake until chilled, then strain into a rocks glass with large ice cubes
  3. Gently pour the wine into the glass over a spoon, so it settles on the top
  4. Twist the lemon peel over the cocktail to release the oils, then run it around the rim & add to the glass as a garnish
  5. Serve immediately
